Accessibility statement
How SmartTelescopes works to be usable by everyone, following WCAG 2.2 level AA, and how to report a barrier.
Effective October 17, 2026.
We want everyone to be able to use SmartTelescopes, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, screen magnification or voice control.
Our standard
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA.
What we do
- Semantic HTML with one main heading per page and a logical heading order.
- A "Skip to content" link, visible focus outlines and full keyboard access.
- Text and controls with at least 4.5:1 color contrast.
- Text alternatives for every meaningful image; decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
- Forms with visible labels, clear error messages linked to their fields, and no time pressure beyond a long security timeout.
- Tables with proper headers, and menus, FAQs and tables of contents built with native HTML elements that work without JavaScript.
- Pages that respect "reduced motion" settings and work when zoomed to 200%.
We check pages with automated tools (such as Lighthouse and axe) and by hand with a keyboard and screen reader.
Known limitations
Some third-party content we link to, such as store websites and embedded videos, is outside our control and may not meet the same standard.
Feedback
If something on SmartTelescopes is hard to use, please tell us which page and what happened. We aim to reply within five working days and to fix barriers as quickly as we can.
