About Dwarflab

Dwarflab is a Chinese company that makes the DWARF series of smart telescopes: small dual-camera units with a telephoto and a wide-angle lens side by side, built for travel. In 2026 it added the much larger Draco, which brings guiding and 300-second exposures to a smart telescope.

The current range

Prices from dwarflab.com on October 17, 2026. The Draco Standard Edition was sold out; the SHO Edition ($1,599) was on pre-order.

All three have a dual narrowband filter built in, a wide-angle camera, RAW (FITS/TIFF) files and EQ mode. The DWARF 3 and mini include an ND solar filter; the Draco Standard Edition has a built-in ND filter for the Sun.

Strengths and weak points

Dwarflab's strengths are size and features for the money: the DWARF 3 is the best-value small smart telescope we cover, and the DWARF mini the lightest. Reviewers' common complaints are connection problems in early sessions, an app with a learning curve and no tripod in the box. Error codes and firmware updates are the most-searched Dwarflab problems; see our Dwarflab error codes guide.

Dwarflab questions

What is the difference between the DWARF 3 and DWARF mini?

The DWARF 3 has a 35 mm lens and an 8 MP Sony IMX678 sensor, 128 GB and a 5.5-hour battery for $549. The DWARF mini has a 30 mm lens and a 2.07 MP IMX662, 64 GB and a 4-hour battery, but weighs only 840 g and costs $419.

Do Dwarflab telescopes come with a tripod?

The DWARF 3 and DWARF mini don't; any photo tripod with a standard thread works, and Dwarflab sells an $89 tripod. The Draco box includes a tripod and a protective case.

What is the Dwarflab Draco?

Dwarflab's 2026 high-end model: 90 mm aperture at 340 mm in a folded design, a 50 MP sensor, built-in guiding, field derotation and single exposures up to 300 seconds, weighing 5.5 kg. The Standard Edition is $1,399 and the SHO Edition $1,599.
